Privacy Policy
HolidayGrid asks for as little as possible. This page explains what actually happens to your data today, and how things work once advertising or analytics are switched on.
What we collect directly
HolidayGridhas no user accounts, no sign up forms, no comment sections and no newsletter. The country search box and the "next holiday" countdown on each calendar run entirely in your browser using the page data already loaded, so typing in the search field does not send anything to a server.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard technical request data (such as IP address, user agent and requested URL) to serve pages and keep the platform secure. That processing is governed by Vercel's privacy policy. We do not use this data to identify visitors.
Cookies
HolidayGrid itself does not currently set tracking cookies. If display advertising or analytics are switched on, the cookies they use are described in the sections below and this page will be updated first.
Third-party advertising
HolidayGrid may show display ads served by third-party advertising partners to help pay for hosting and development. When an ad network is active, that partner can set its own cookies or use similar technology on your device to measure how ads perform and, where permitted, to personalize which ads you see. HolidayGrid does not control what those partners do with that data; each network publishes its own privacy policy covering how it processes information collected through its ads.
Your consent choices (EEA and UK visitors)
If you visit from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you will be shown a consent banner before any non-essential cookies are set or personalized ads are loaded. That banner is provided by a Google-certified consent management platform and lets you accept or reject advertising cookies. Ads may still appear if you decline, but they will not be personalized using cookies.
Analytics
HolidayGrid does not currently run analytics. The site ships the code for it, switched off: no measurement script is requested and nothing is counted until a domain is configured for it.
When it is switched on, it will be a cookieless, aggregate tool such as Plausible or Umami. Those set nothing on your device, store no identifier for you, and build no profile, which is why this site can use one without asking you to dismiss a consent banner first. Google Analytics is deliberately not used here: it would require that banner, and a banner is a poor trade for a pageview count on a site whose whole offer is that it asks you for nothing.
What would be counted, in aggregate and never tied to a person: which page was viewed, which country and year it was about, whether a calendar file was downloaded or a calendar subscribed to, whether a link to another year or a neighbouring country was followed, whether the corrections log or the API documentation was opened, and whether the page being read was one whose dates are not official yet. That last one exists so we know how many readers are looking at data that is going to change.
Children
HolidayGrid is a general audience reference site for looking up public holiday dates. It is not directed at children and is not designed to collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If we add features that change how data is handled, this page will be updated first and the change will be described plainly. Questions about this policy are welcome through the contact page. See also the terms of service.
